1-owner 1978 Ford F150 Ranger XLT! You read that right. This truck has been in the hands of one man since new. It was purchased new in Florida and stayed there until the owner moved to Georgia in 2002, where it stayed ever since. It is also 1 of just 16 built in these fantastic colors of Cinnamon Glow and Dark Brown Metallic, per the Marti Report.
The truck was never restored and was instead worked on as needed throughout its life. It has been garage kept and is incredibly solid throughout! The interior was redone last year including new upholstery, new headliner, and new door panels. It is a lovely two-tone vinyl that shows well and is very comfortable. The gauges are clear and easy to read, and the dash looks great. Even the glovebox light works! Inside the glovebox is perhaps the coolest part. The original warranty card with plate, and the original owner's manual the owner signed at the time of purchase! There are also receipts for repairs over the year including the most recent one for a new master cylinder.
My favorite part is the exterior color combination in Cinnamon Glow and Dark Brown, the original colors. The owner added features like running boards, bed rails, and bed tie downs when the truck was new, and they still look great!
Under the hood is the original 351 modified which was rebuilt about 5 years ago when it started to puff a little smoke on startup. It no longer does that, and it sounds fantastic! That engine is backed by the original smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission. A/C, power steering, and power brakes make this a well optioned F150! The A/C is all there but is currently inoperable. The owner says the compressor started making a little noise, so he took the belt off to be safe. It shouldn't take much to get the A/C blowing cold again!
A spray in bedliner was done in 2000 and the spare tire was mounted in the bed at that point. It could easily be moved if you desired. This truck is clean, solid, and the doors open and close with ease. It is really rare to find a 1-owner vehicle, especially a truck in this condition after 46 years of use. The only non-original metal on the truck is the tailgate. The owner backed into a forklift with the tailgate down and dented the original tailgate. He found one locally that was in great shape and installed it. Other than that, this truck has never had any damage or repairs to the body. That is incredible!
